Can you believe that we are almost at the end of September? I love Fall, but this year needs to slow down, we were just in March. 😊 But seriously, I am excited for the holiday activities, so I want to share another fun savings challenge. A lot of you are saving for Halloween or Trunk or Treat, and I want to add a little joy to this. I created the Treat-tastic savings challenge to help you save for costumes, candy, and whatever else you want. This is a $75 savings challenge that will help you to save in no time!

Since the goal is to save for Halloween, I themed this challenge after goodies given on the holiday. I was torn between creating a higher savings amount but decided to stick to $75 because it can be done in a shorter time frame. If you need to save more than that I have a couple of ways for you to do that.
If you want to save for each child, then print multiple trackers. I do this for holiday gifts because it helps me to keep track of who I am saving for. You can write your child’s name on the top of the tracker and get to saving.
Another idea is to change the savings goal amount. It will be easier if you double or triple the amount to help with completing the tracker. If you need to save $150 for Halloween, then each image on the tracker will be twice the amount. For example, a $4 image will now be $8, and so on. This will help you to reach that $150 goal.
How to Complete the Savings Challenge
If you are new here, then you may not know that I love to color. Yes, I am an adult who loves coloring. It is my happy place. (No judgement please. Lol. 😊) This savings challenge is a color and save by number tracker. You choose an image on the tracker and save the amount on the image. Color in each image that you complete. There are 15 savings amounts on this tracker, with amounts ranging from $4 to $7.
I wanted to give you this tracker before October, so that you can budget for Halloween. I plan to use this savings challenge for my nieces Halloween activities, because she loves the holiday.
3 Free Halloween Activities Ideas
To help me not lose progress with my saving and debt free journey, I decided to enjoy the upcoming season on a tight budget. If you are trying to cut down on spending money for Halloween or want some no cost ways to enjoy the holiday, then I have a treat for you. Here are three free Halloween activities:
- Trick or Treating or Trunk or Treat – Of course I was going to put this, because it’s the highlight of Halloween! It gives your kids a chance to get free candy and treats. Plus, the walk around the neighborhood is refreshing.
- Local City/Town Halloween Party – Most cities have free Halloween parties where there are a bunch of activities. In my town there is a candy giveaway, face painting, pumpkin carving, food, and more for families, and it’s all free! These are normally sponsored, meaning that companies donate to make this event free to families. Check your local or nearest city’s website and see if there are any free events in your area.
- Movie Night In – I love movie nights because I get to watch my favorite movies and enjoy snacks in the comfort of my home. Most of us have streaming services, but if you don’t there are plenty of free ways to watch movies. YouTube and Freevee normally have free movies (with ads), and don’t forget those free streaming trial subscriptions. Remember to cancel them before the trial ends. Don’t forget the snacks because a movie night needs snacks! I normally use what I have in my home and create a snack board. This helps you to save money and clean out those cabinets!
