I decided to start adding seasonal savings challenges to the free resource library, so that you all will have a few months to complete them. The first tracker that I added was the Fall Bingo Savings Challenge. This savings tracker has a $300 savings goal, with amounts ranging from $3 to $24. Since this is a bingo savings game, there is a free spot that you can use during this challenge!
How to Complete the Savings Challenge
The goal is to complete a row of images to get a bingo. Each image on the tracker has a savings amount on it. Each time that you save the amount on the image color the image. On the top of the bingo game board the columns spell out BINGO. Each row and column have 5 images, so you can complete a set of 5 in any direction: vertical (down), horizontal (across), or diagonal. To save the $300 goal amount, complete the entire board for a blackout bingo! You can choose an image to save yourself or make it a real bingo game!
Bingo Game Instructions:
- Print out two of the savings challenge trackers.
- Cut each of the image squares of one tracker (25 in total). These are your game square pieces.
- Put those 25 game square pieces in a box or bag.
- Each time that you play this game, pull out a game square image from the box or bag.
- Find an image on the game board that matches the image on the game square and save the amount.
- Color in each image that you complete.
Since I like savings games, I plan to put my bingo game pieces in a small glass bowl and pull a game square from it. Without looking of course! 😊
We Are Not Giving Up!
I know that this economy is tough, and things like food and gas costs are going up. There are times when I want to throw my budget out of the window because I have to constantly change my budget category amounts for essential items. It is frustrating, because as budgeters we like balance. We like everything to fit in its proper place and we know that if we increase the amount of one budget category then another category must decrease. I had to lower my spending category for October and probably will in November due to increases in costs of living.
But we are not giving up! We are going to continue to make good financial decisions because we have goals to reach. I have a strong faith, which helps to keep me calm even in stressful situations. It’s also just my personality to be solution oriented.
I think that is how we must be in this current time, which means reworking our budgets and finding ways to increase our income. We don’t know when things will change, so our defense is to do the best we can with what we have. To save as much as we can for emergencies and to cut expenses where we can. You can do this because you are a butterfly! Which means you can transform and grow in any situation. 🦋
